I need a new pump for my tank but the previous owner moved the filtration tower from the right hand side over to the left corner of tank. Because of this a standard UK juwel pump will not fit.

I've been told that American Juwel tanks have the tower on the left as standard, so I should be able to get a US pump to fit. Is this true? If not can anybody offer any alternatives?

Thanks.

Have you considered an external canister? Much better biological capacity and if you get one bigger than you need it can circulate your tank water 10 times an hour, fab :good:

I can't imagine why it woulnd't fit (just he standard powerhead) ?
So is the black box there but no powerhead ?
It should matter which side you have it and should fit both ways.

But yes - ultimately external filter is the way to go in my opinion :good:

I did buy a new pump. The outlet pipe does not line up with the hole on the right of the black box. But when i turned it 180 it lined up perfect with the hole on left. Which is of course now up against the glass!!! Strange but true.

Theres usually a black piece of plastic that attaches the power head to a long plastic wall thing if you turn this around the power head should fit properly. (Does that make any sense?)

But personally I'd go external, juwel filters arent all that anyway.
