Juwel Rio 180 Setup

Hi

I bought a 2nd hand Juwel Rio 180 tank with hood/lights/filter/thermometer and pump. Is it just me or is something missing from the filter? I cant work out how the pump fits, is the cable submerged or should the pump be 'fixed' to something?

That looks more like a powerhead pump than a compact h pump to me. My impellor is not exposed like that with base off (you have to remove entire motor housing) and there is a sort of stepped silencer attached to the bottom which is is obviously not aparrent with your pump. I am sure someone more knowledge will help you shortly...

Hi, I have the same tank and although the pump and its attachments look slightly different, I think the outer casing is missing. As far as setting it up inside the filter box....have a look at the following from the Juwel Aquarium web site http/www.juwel-aquarium.de/data/Pdf/gbw/en/Rio_180.pdf It's a manual for the Rio 180 and it helped me a lot!! There are loads of sites that sell Juwel parts as well. Good luck

Iirc thats one of the old powerheads. The new ones use an a adapter what you line up an twist on the bottom of the pump and the whole lot pushes into a d shaped hole in the filter box and the out goes through the side
