Hi all,

Just got a second hand Juwel Rio 180, and the lightbar is broken on it.

It appears work has been done on it before to replace the internal system with an external one. However, the bar is broken and about an inch too short to go across the whole tank.

As a result, the flaps for the lid can't go on properly, and with two cats, someone is going to get wet.

Just wondering what options I have for replacing it?

Thanks

Sounds like you need a new unit. Just do a google shopping search for juwel rio 180 light unit. They are about £80 including bulbs. If you need new flaps i think they are between £20-30. I had to buy a new unit for a used tank too, juwel make great tanks but the lighting units are notorious!

Thanks Alm0stAwesome, just ordered it from Warehouse Aquatics for £73 in total. Should be here tomorrow.

I was planning on buying new flaps, but I don't think I'll need to now, as they appear to be in decent shape, and once they are with the light unit, they should stop any kitty accidents.
