Juwel Rekord 800

Hi there,

I've had my Rekord 800 up and running now for around a week.

The light can often flick off/on when lifting the lid up,

On occasion it has just flicked off for no reason, then requires a wiggle for the light to come back on..


Can anybody reccomend how to solve this?

Is it damaging the light unit when it flicks on and off?

The tank is a newer one with the lid that opens as one, and has the small flap with 'Juwel' written on it.

Look underneath the unit, there should be a coloured sticker, is it red or blue?

There is an orange one that says "Aquariumlight Juwel "DUOLUX" GB, a sticker in the middle saying Made in Germany, and finally a white instructional stickler.

It has just flicked off again.

There should be a plain circular sticker, that has no writing on it, if it's under a year old it's still under warranty, take it back to where you bought it (lighting unit only) and they should replace it, if not send it to juwel.

Just tried an old bulb, seems the fastners were fairly loose. If they were too loose could this cause the bulbs to shake and trip out?

Possibly, it could be a poor connection, try tightening them up and shaking the hood around to see if it still flickers.

i had the same problem, was just water getting in the light.

try dry the whole unit and see if it works fine then. i ended up buying a perspex lid
