toughy, but im feeling the aquastyle more why?
The filter is alot easier to just have phosphate remover in there, or even macro algea.
You get an extra bulb which helps if your not thinking of upgrading your lighting for more light dependant corals.
But i would say get a seio m620 for either for sure.

But juwel are the better quality than that type of aqua one IMO.

However the rest sounds great :good: .

Nathan,
My choice would be the rio 240. I have one of these and they look great when you set them up as a marine tank.
The lighting would be easy to upgrade by using an arcadia luminaire, I have a 4 bulb T5 on mine. I also have the V2 400 skimmer and it works really well.
The only other thing I would say is to buy a refractometer instead of the hydrometer, they are only about £25 and much more accurate than the swing arm hydros, and whats an extra £25 when you think of how much money you will be investing in your livestock :good:

Right i think i might get the Juwel its a cheaper tank on its own and its larger, although, would 2x Marine White T8's be suitable because it will take me even longer to save for the T5 bar or the Luminaire.I want to keep corals btw but i understand soft corals would be the only option. Also did you keep in tour filter which came with the Tank or remove it.Lastly what would be the minimum amount of LR i would have to start off with to put fish into the tank.
Thanks very much :)

No those are just the ones i like the look of and are not very expensive and are easy to upgrade to marine, why can you reccomend any to me?

Personally I if you want to save a bit of $$££ then email someone like Windor Aquatics & get the tank built

It will be cheaper & exactly what you want, they will drill Holes, add Weirs, Durso's etc where you want them at a god price

A mate of mine had a massive cube made by them about 6 Years ago 7 saved himself a good few $$££

Or try Ebay, there are always tanks on there

ok i will have a look thanks, what is the minimun amount of LR in a tank before adding fish please?

I binned the filter box, but its up to you, some people keep it in to house the heater.
I picked up the luminaire on a marine forum for much cheapness!!
Soft corals are best to start off with, as they are more forgiving of less than perfect water conditions.
LR is a contentious issue, I would say that less is more, for me anyway. As long as you have good flow
around it, then a tank with less LR can be a more stable environment than one with a massive rock
structure built in it.

If I was setting up a 240 ltr - i would be add around 20 - 30 Kilograms of Liverock

A well aquascapeed tank with lots of space (caves, nooks etc.) IMO is a better idea then using a little amount of LR

From the sucsessefull tank I have seen on most of UK based Reef Forums the thoughts regarding Liverock is to use around 1kg per UK gallon

I think 20-30 Kilos would be plentey i just wanted to know the minimum as i have to save for it all and have'nt much money yet :(

Probably looking at around £ 200 for 20kg's from an LFS

In saying that keep an eye on some of the Reef Forums, as there sales forums have liverock on there quite often

pm me if you want details
:good:
