Juwel Light Units

Hi,

Just after some advice.

I have a Juwel fish tanks but the lighting unit has just stopped working. I have swapped the fuse and checked the current and that is not the problem. One light bulb looks like it has burnt out (slightly black at one end and has something rattling inside it). The other bulb seems to be fine with none of the problems the other bulb has. However, the unit won't light at all. Do the Juwel units only light when they have two good bulbs in them or will i have the starter unit problem that seems to plague the Juwel tanks?

Anything anybody can suggest?

Its one of the newer Juwel tanks with the T5 lights.

I have juwel and if one tube blows both stop working, but mine are t8 not sure on the t5s

Jewal have finally replied to my email i sent them and they confirm that the tubes will only work with two bulbs in it!

I will get it checked out tomorrow and hopefully sorted.

First time my Vision 180 lighting failed, I took it to local fish shop who tried it with a spare tube and proved if one tube fails no other tube is off as well.

Their spare tube was so much brighter than my one remaining I ended up spending £40 odd on two more tubes, propper light make such a difference.

Keep the one remaining tube as when same happens again you can swap around to locate the failed tube.
