I need to replace both of my light tubes in my Rio 125. I noticed that they are both a different colour. When i buy two new ones do they have to Juwel again or can i use another make if so what colour tubes should i use and can they both be different colours. Any adviced gratefully received Thanks :p

you can buy jewel again if you wish, but i would put other tubes back in.i use arcadia tubes.i have a marine blue at the back and a freshwater tube at the front.perfect for my malawi tank.what colour are most of your fish?????

Hi, I had a Juwel Rio 300 for Xmas. I noticed that one tube was white and one was yellow. I phoned lfs (in case one was faulty) and he said that on the larger Juwel tanks one tube wouldn't be enough so Juwel put one bright one and one not so bright one to give the correct level of light. I know many people don't like Juwel lights, internal filter etc but that's what the man told me! BTW my plants are growing well but not up to the standard of someone who has co2, fertiliser etc. :) You don't have to stick with the Juwel lights. When I bought a new tube for my old Juwel tank I was sold an Arcadia tube.

Hi my fish are mostly orange and black , i have platys and mollies and cories.

lfs are quite cunning.they often use coloured bulbs to make the fish look better and more colourful in the shop and then you get them home and they dont look as nice.i would try a pinky/red bulb(sorry, forget the right name lol) in the back and a freshwater in the front.what make bulbs does your lfs have????i use arcadia.
