Juwel Gravel Cleaning Kit

Hi All

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

Does anyone have any experience of using the Juwel gravel cleaner?

It uses siphon principles so the bucket needs to be lower than the water level but any tips on starting the process other than sucking on the pipe at the bucket end would be appreciated

I dont much fancy a mouthful of my tank water even if it is good quality and the fish have to live in it!

put the whole pipe into the tank water, turn the ends upwards (still under water though) and watch all the bubbles come out, one thumb over one end, turn other end downwards (towards gravel) and quickly put the end with your thumb over into the bucket on the floor. It should run straight away, if it doesn't pump the suction end (the end inside the tank) up and down vigourously and the air lock created should set it going.
