can anyone tell me what order the filters should go in espically for a juwel rekord 70?

is this right?

starting from the bottom a fine blue sponge then a gap then a course blue sponge then a green nitrate sponge then black carbon sponge then on the top a white disposable floss

what i did was 2 coarse at bottom 1 fine blue 1 green then white pads but i dont think this is correct

from the bottom up
you need to progress in size, so;
course, fine, green, black(not really needed unless taking out meds) and then floss.

juwels work by pre filtering the water before it hits the sponges....

from bottom to the top
coruse (blue).......
fine (blue)...........
carbon (black)......
filter floss (white)..

You normally have a fine blue sponge at the bottom, then two coarse blue sponges, then a black carbon sponge, then finally a white polypad. You can replace the top blue coarse sponge with a Nitrate Removing Sponge (Green) which Juwel have recently bought out. I have a Rekord 96 and that's how my sponges are, don't know if it's different in different size tanks. I'll find out when I get a bigger one! :)

in both my juwels the finest blue is on the bottom working up to the coarsest blue.

I have a Juwel Rio 180 & the instructions are; fine blue, ( 2 of those in the bottom basket ) coarse blue, nitrate remover, ( green ) carbon ( if used ) & white floss in the top basket.

Mine wrong then as I have a course on the bottom so it should be fine blue sponge at the bottom.

seems to be wilder. dont know why though :dunno: but thats how the instructions on both my juwels had it.

In my instructions it quite cleary states that the fine blue should be at the bottom, the the coarse the the carbon (optional) then the white floss. I don't use any nitrate sponges.
