Just Wont Go Right

moss balls wont help but they will survive in there if you want to add them. fast growing plants help reduce algae by removing nutrients from the water. moss balls are very slow growers.

hi

i think i might get some.
i also might be getting a arc pod 9w for my 15g(30"x12"x12"). would that be suffitiant?(sorry, bad speller)
also would it be ok for...
hairgrss
dwarf hairgrass
ricia(i doubt that one)

thanks

david

If you've got a 30" tank why not get a 24" 18w tube? those arc pods are expensive and give out very little light, at only 9 or 11w. Do you have any light over the 15g already or not? If not then a 18w tube would give you 1.5WPG, perfect for easy to grow plants :)

As for the hairgrass and riccia. Of all three the riccia is probably the easiest to grow, even submerged it'll do ok in lower lighting levels, it just doesn't pearly thats all. Hairgrass is a notoriously difficult plant even in the best of EI tanks so best avoided really.

my hood does not have any light fittings.
also it's the only one i can get. i can forget about other plants as long as i can have java moss and fern and marimo moss?
would that 9w arc pod be OK?

i have some moonlight leds in there.

i don't know where i got this from but i thought dwarf hair grass was fairly hardy and easy to grow?if not are there any other plants similar that are hardy(ish).
i'll def give the hairgrass a miss then. thanks for the warning.
sorry if i sounded a little rude at the start.didn't mean to be. :p

thanks so much!
