I have a 17 gallon 64 litre fish tank.
It has 1 male salifin molly
1 male black molly which changed from female to male
1 female black molly
1 female platy
About 7 0-3 month old fry
just wondering I know people who did this,
would just leaving all the fish there breeding and not taking fry out or selling the fish just leaving them there do any harm?
About 0-5 out of 15 fry survive each time(i dont take them out i know this is cruel but it does happen in real life)
I have heard of people just leaving the fish there and overcrowd the tank and they will be still healthy and happy and the fish tank would be fine.
See having say a maximum bio load of 30 fish and the population becomes greater than that then the ammonia levels and nitrate gets very high then would only the adult healthy fish survive and the population then stays at 30 fish? It is hard to explain and I know it is very cruel but im just wondering I am obviously not going to be doing that! But some people do do that.
