Sorry for posting this again, but noone was responding in livebearers.

I have a few questions.....

I just recently got a pregnant guppy, a pregnant pineapple sword, a pregnant platy (i believe its a platy), and a male yellow guppy.

1. My yellow male guppy insists on following my female pineapple sword around the whole tank. He will not leave her alone, he keeps *side bumping* her and here and there he will peck at her side, it kind of looks like he is kissing her, it doesn't look like it hurts her.

The male guppy does not do this to any other fish..... Does this mean he's a confused guppy and he's trying to mate?

2. Yesterday on my pineapple sword the "pregnant marks" were black. Today I noticed that it was more like a red-ish color.

I was wondering......Does this mean that she's getting closer to having the babies, is she "aborting them?"

I would appreciate and respect all coments.

Thank you.

ok well when other fish start to pick or bash pregnant fish its because they want her to give birth so
they can eat the babies.im not really sure why your platys gravid spot have changed.

The male guppy is trying to be agressive, how many livebearers(platys, swordtails guppys etc) do you have in total or are these the only ones you have?

That was Tom in the first post, but I think I can cover what he would reply here.

Those are the main fish in the tank, there are a few tiny guppies in with them as well. Just very small feeders.

Hey, my pinapllle sword gave birth 3 days ago.
the gravid spot changed to reddish is a sign of
the frys devlopinthe black are there eyes and
the red is there bodie you can tell when there
going to give birth by how full she is and when
the back of her stomic looks more point she is
about to give birth.i cant answer your other Q's
but i think the swordtail will take care of its self

Yeah, someone in the Livebearer section said that the guppie was just 'trying to get his gig on', not being aggresive. Haha. Thats one way to put it I guess.

Thanks Alex, I'll pm you personally if I have more questions. =)
