Just three more days until my "community" dwellers move into this:
Five guppies (only one male) and two female bettas have two more nights of medication for a bacterial infection, then they (and their current substrate) will be added to this 37-gallon aquarium. (Thank you LFS for the one carrier guppy who never got sick, but gave it to my others!)
It's a bit cloudy because the gravel was used. But I added bottled bacteria to it, and the water parameters already look great on paper. Also later this week I'm expecting $60 in live plants and I'll be putting lots in here. That is why it SEEMS bare now - it won't be for long!
Also today, my seven guppy babies and three platy babies were moved from their one-gallon to a five-gallon. Once they outgrow the fiver, they should be able to mix with the others in the big tank pictured above.
And also later this week, I'll be placing the order for a stand, hood, and canopy for the 100-gallon. SO MANY UPGRADES in such a short time. Since the 37 gallon will have the same inhabitants and their substrate, it will be a quick move with NO cycling, since I also added beneficial bacteria. The 100-gallon, however, will probably be set up for WEEKS, maybe even a few months, before I get fish for it. That is where the majority of the live plants will go, and I want it cycled and the plants established before adding fish. It will also be the one requiring fish shipped in - no LFS for those discus.
But you know I'll be posting pics of it, too!
