Just sold my first guppy fry to the lfs

This is the first time I've done this and must say felt very sad to leave my darlings in the fish shop He inspected them and then just dumped them straight into a tank without floating

I took 4 female and 3 male guppies that were 10 weeks old and I got £3.60 credit for them

Just wondered if anyone else got sad at leaving their fry or is it just soppy old me?

My lfs and many other fish stores around here wont buy my fish!! I am so bummed Sure they will take them and then they will sell them and keep the money themselves UGH

I'm thinking about putting ads up around the neighborhood and selling them for $1.00 or something. It's better than nothing

Joby I think it was you who helped me about my guppies before...well 1 of my fry is about 3-4 months old now and HE is so darn beautiful!!! He's finally coloring up and his tail is getting so big I just ordered a digital camera which should arrive tomorrow..and then I'll post pics of my fish in the aquarium fish pics section. I can't wait to show off )

Right now I have about 25 guppy fry and I know when I have to part with them I'll be real sad

I asked 3 other stores before this one agreed to take them off me. They pay half of what they sell for.

Awww I'm glad your fry are doing well. I saved a beautiful male from this batch. He looks like somebody did graffiti (sp?) on him he has so many colours and what looks like red 'go faster stripes'!

I have another 15 which will go in another 3 weeks and I hope I won't feel so bad as with the first bunch.

You are lucky that you found a store that will give credit! I can't find any, not even the pet store I work at! I will probably end up giving my store some of my fry because I just have too many! At least I will know who ends up getting them. I want to try selling some online but there isn't much of a market for guppies online unless they are IFGA breeds.

It is really sad, las week i took in 12 platy babies, they were in my community tank and they needed to be moved, but i dont haveth eroom for another tank so took them to the fish shop.

There are a few near me but i took them to a shop that i know looks after the fish, i dint get anythign for them though

Last I took in was some sword juveniles. I had watched them grow to about 2 inches and did feel funny about it. The rest of my fish did appreciate eating for the next 6 months so I guess it was OK.
