Fish Crazy
It seems to me that feeder guppies--infamous as they are--can be very similar in appearance to the Endlers livebearer, believe it or not. Indeed, I have actually seen a thread in a fish forum about someone who was saying that they had a female feeder which gave birth to fry, and one of the fry had turned out to be quite pretty. They posted a picture of it, and asked what it might be. There were tons of replies saying that it was probably an Endlers!!!
Those who own Endlers--or any expensive or beautiful livebearer--probably don't stoop so low as to own feeders because of how common they are. Those who own feeders usually keep them only for the consumption of another fish, and thus don't usually give much thought to such puny livebearers as guppies.
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth when I say that male feeder guppies, as low among the livebearers as they are, do look almost exactly like small, somewhat faded Endlers! (I would know, as I have owned both in the past.)
As it is, this is just a small FYI post. Also, if you can't afford Endlers, let's just say that feeder guppies can be a VERY cheap substitute (not to mention easy to find!!)
