Two new male guppies!
1 Blue Delta Tail and 1 Sunset Double Sword Tail.
They will be there for me to collect tomorrow and I can't wait to get them into my guppy breeding project.

One of any genetic strain does not make a breeder. It takes one of each sex to carry on a fixed set of characteristics. The female and male must come from the same line or you will lose something with each generation. If you just want to add some variety to a generic fancy guppy group, go for it. I toss the odd new male into my guppy tank once in a while to move the population in a new direction but I would not call it a breeding setup. It does add to the color variety of the fry though.

So you've decided to try and get guppies and sword tails to breed together now?

Sword tail is a guppy tail shape micko. It also comes up in endlers, like this one of mine.

Aaah ok. I know nothing about gupppies as I could never keep them any longer than two weeks so I gave up trying to keep them.
I'd assumed this was the case as the OP was wanting a molly/guppy breed.

I think I may have succeeded with the Molly/Guppy breeding project. My Female Molly(Hitler... Don't ask why, my brother named her) was not showing signs that she was pregnant at all until I put her in with a male guppy, now she's starting to show a lot. Already putting weight on. Still not getting my hopes up because she could miscarry or re-absorb them for any reason, plus she could have been carrying sperm from one of my males but not showing because she was too early on. Like I said, I think she may have been fertilised by the male guppy.

OM47, the 'Breeding Project' is just to add some colour to the babies. Though I do have a Blue Delta Female so I could breed just the two together but I'd have to let her drop all her babies for however long before I try that because she's pregnant with one of my other males babies. Oh all this breeding is so exciting! I shall tell you one thing, there must be something in the water... Even I'm starting to feel the heat.

I'm not happy now. The person I got them off said that the Sunset was a Double Sword Tailed Guppy but he's just a Round Tailed Guppy. Yeah he's nice but I would like to get what I'm told I'd be getting thank you...

Anyway, Pictures Anyone? lol

Tell me what you think to them OM47, I'd like to know if you like the shots(took ages to get them)...

Decent pictures of your fish. I find I take at least 10 before I have one worth posting, but maybe that's just me.

As far as guppy quality, I am far from expert on them. I like what I like but have never gotten into breeding domestic fish. I focus on breeding wild type fish in single species tanks. To me, a perfect fish is a vibrantly healthy one that shows the proper characteristics of the fish species involved. By my wild breeder standards, all domestic guppies are substandard since they bear no resemblance to a wild Poecilia reticulata, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate what has been done by the devoted guppy breeders. All of the fancy tails and colors are the result of careful selection to reinforce characteristics rarely seen in a truly wild guppy.

The changes are almost as dramatic as the changes from a wolf to a chihuahua. The chihuahua can be quite nice but not if you are a wolf enthusiast. Wild guppies actually look far more like my wild endler than any modern fancy guppy.

Trust me... I think I took about 20 before I posted any of them!
Fish aren't easy to take pictures of.
