Just Put My Swordtail In A Breeder Tank....

I have a pregnant pineapple swordtail and this morning, while watching the fish, I noticed that she is really square and huge. The other fish all congregated in one area of the tank and acted like they were on a feeding frenzy. I immediately put her into a breeder box. I don't know if she has dropped any fry yet, but better safe than sorry.

Watch her carefully in the box, it can be stressful and sometimes kills them or causes them to abort the pregnancy if they are placed in there too soon.

I am! She went nuts when I put her in the breeder box, So I gave her a little food to try and calm her a little. It seems to have worked, She is just hanging out looking around.

Just did a huge water change as well. My ammonia spiked to 2.0     Change 45g of the 55g

Why the ammonia spike

I'm not exactly sure why. I've been trying for weeks to get my ammonia level below 1. Today, It was at 2.
