Well have managed to sell both my tanks (to the one person)

I went to LPS today and ordered the fluval Roma 240 comes with the fluval 305 external.

Plan of action is they guy is coming to pick my bigger tank up on weds. I am taking out all fiter media including sponges out of my fluval 4 and 3 plus, will pack it all into my 3.5 foot tank filter which is a Eheim 2217. Then when i set up new tank i will put all the filter media from the Eheim into the new fluval 305 plus all the tank water from 3.5 foot tank and fish into new tank. the the guy will come for my 3.5 foot tank.

If i am correct this will give me a instant Cycle?.

Also i am really thinking about going for black sand in this tank instaed of white sand. what u all think?

Thanks

Zoe :good:

Hi, black sand looks great! Although i was wondering what type of sand you used before and was it safe? Where did you get it from?

Hey Zoe,

That should give you an instant cycle. Good luck. :good:

Also, black sand looks ace. :good: Where did you order your tank from?

HI ZOE

YOUR QUESTION IS ONE OF THE MANY QUESTIONS I GET ASKED, ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS WHERE I WORK. BY DOING THIS YOU WILL FIND GETTING A CYCLE IS EASIER.

JUST MAKE SURE THAT THE BACTERIA IS NOT STARVED OF OXYGEN FOR TOO LONG WHILE TRANSPORTING THE MEDIA. SOUNDS STUPID, BUT BACTERIA CAN START SUFFERING EVEN AFTER 20 MINUTES IF NOT RUNNING WITH A CONSTANT O2 SUPPLY IN WATER.

GOODLUCK WITH THE MOVE AND GOOD TANK BUY DEFINATELY MY BEST SELLER.

Hey BTT. Getting it from new shop. He price matching tank as seapets are selling it for £289. Hugh got the roma 200 and he selling it for £350

So excited about it coming, plus phil said he will build stand for me in shop as hubby had a accident and broke his arm, wrist and nose so no chance of him building it :hyper:

Woooooohhhhhhhhh! Thats a nasty accident. How'd he manage that? What pub was he in?

When you getting the tank then?

There's no need to keep the old water if the pH and temperature of the new tank are the same. All you are really introducing is nitrates. The media is the key. Keep it wet and you should have a good few hours before anything too drastic happens.
