my beta usally always happy. untill last week he was acting strange. just a few days ago he has stopped eating and swimming really. all he does is sit at the top of the tank and breath the out side air? Some time he will swim down to the tank and lay sideways as if us humans sleep. other times he wil swim on the top of the surface really fast with his mouth out the water. he does look a bit bloated and he has 2 little tiny humps on his back. pleas help.

sorry for the back grammer and spelling i had to write this fast.

Post water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, please.
The fish sounds in a very bad way and is not going ton make it.
The humps can you explain more.

you don't know that he is not going to make it ...........yes it sounds like he is in a bad way but I have seen some fish basically come back from the dead so before you upset Boxer saying Boxer's Betta is not going to make it we should prob find a bit more out about the situation.

Boxer: if possible can you post pic's especially of the humps.

I didn't mean to sound awful but a fish not eating, can barely swim, and has deformaties is not in good shape.

well i went to the store. Got some new filters, beta revive, and some bacteria. He is acting lot more normal then he has. At least he has stopped going to the bottom and laying down. :good: When i put food in he just looks at it like he is a poor person at the mall (window shopping) he is acting more like him self, though.

Ok bless him.
Any red sores on the fish.
Has long ahs the fish had the humps.

the humps i have no idea. they are not super big but big enough to notice them.

He does have one red sore. Its on the top of his lip. I don't know if it was always there but im just starting to see it.

The humps are deformaties, plus a red sore is bacterial but signs of somehing else.
Any fish gone thin, or bent spines.
You will need a bacterial med for the red spot.

i think the red sore was always there, im not 100% sure but i think it was there.

He is eating now, he ate 3 pellets today.

I have a water test kit but i cant read the damn thing. I have mo idea what it all means.

Ammonia should be 0, Nitrite should be 0, you should have a nitrate reading thats normal.

Nitrite=0 Ammonia=0
I have been changing his water everyday because of the beta revive treatment.

Thats fine then.
Hows he doing.

He is still sleeping a lot. He is swimming normally and does not go to the bottom at all.

As long as he not suffering best to let him carry on.
They can llive a while with a hunched back.
