Just got some Seachem Purigen for my filter

This media is amazing!

after only 2 hours, water went from mucky (i treated for ich with green malachite last weekend) to crystal clear!

I paid 20$ for the 100g cartrdige but it lasts a lifetime.

The box says when the media gets dark, it loses its efficiency but by letting it soak in a bleach solution, it will regain it's efficiency! A guy at another LFS that didn't cary this item recommended it to me.

I recommend this to everyone who has an aquarium.

The box says it is 5 times more effective than carbon, without harming plants as it does not capture the plant nutrients, unlike carbon.

Pretty expensive but worth every penny IMO

wouldn't the bleach be bad for the bacteria/fish?

you have to rinse it off throughly

It would obviously kill the bacteria but it's rolse is not to house bacteria but to clear the water. It's not a very big bag anyway so there's still plenty of room for regular biological filter media.

yvez where did u get it, a corpoate store or a pirite own petshop because iwent to my lfs and i couldnt find it, maybe i should go to petsmart
