I got a little tank that wasn't being used a while ago and I set it up about a week ago and started fishless cycling it. Ammonnia was going down quite fast but it hasn't gone down at all in the last few days. I went to try and get some Bactinettes but the shop didn't have any and the guy reccomended some nutrafin cycle instead. I see now that its probably a waste of money but I was wondering whether its worth using anyway or if it'll just mess up my cycle or pollute the tank?

Summary: Will nutrafin cycle damage my existing bacteria or pollute the tank?

Thanks for any help given

I think that it can speed up your initial cycle and it certainly wont do any harm but on the bottle it suggests that you add it to your water every week to keep you cycled. This is nonsence once you are cycled and you have fish living in your tank you are cycled. I used it for a year before I discovered this forum it did no harm but now I know it did no good either. I sugest you use it till the bottle has run out then dont waste any more money on it.

Yes, I think it may be a beneficial product when setting up a new tank but not required on a mature one

Cycle?. It's really not worth bothering with 99% of the 'bacteria in a bottle' stuff.
