Just Got More Tank Inmates

Thanks :)

These fish are very timid, they wont move out of a corner and are very scared, I'd hoped overnight they might settle more, but if anything they are worse this morning, its not as though any other fish is bothering them, but they even shy away from the corys!!

i wouldnt worry too much minx mine were like that at 1st, im sure they will settled down in a few days

Im leaving the lights out today to see if that helps, on the plus side, they did come out when they noticed food was about, so thats a good thing :)

Quick update, they are all out and about today, still a little wary, but who can blame them with some pretty large active fish all chasing around them, but Im happy with them :)

good stuff they should make for quite an impressive sight once they grow and gain confidence :good:

Well after alot of reading up, Ive ID'd them as Satanoperca daemon, as I thought and the more I read, the more concerned I become, my ph is too high, water to hard, temp not high enough etc etc  Can raise the temp by a degree or two at most, but not much I can do about the water hardness/ph, although the ph in this tank is lower than any other due to all the bogwood. So its gonna be fingers crossed I can keep them healthy, as they are apparently prone to bloat if the water quality isnt spot on. Good job I already do 50% x 2 water changes a week, may have to up that to 3x

Definetely not jurupari. The spots are an obvious give away. Jurupari are basically plain shiny sliver with some spangling. Daemon is a possibilty for a species as you have said, that would have been my first idea.

Look up the jurupari project for help ID'ing jurupari.

Thanks, cant find a link to jurupari project, did try to find it earlier, but I did find a site that had definitive ID's and photographs, and they are definately daemon :)

Lucky sod! Daemons are worth about £35 each for juvis locally! Juruparis are around £3 each!!

Daemons are slightly smaller, slightly more colourful and extremely water sensitive...as in as sensitive as Discus!

These cost £8 each, but as these were the only ones left, he did them all for £35.
