Just Got A New Angel!

i took my two angels back to the LFS cause they were comstantly fighting, i traded them for one black angel, his bodys a black grey colour with two fine blck stripes on eachside, anyone know what kind of angel he is? i have bever seen one this colour before. any info would be much appreciated!

Probably a hybrid black, which will show some striping when stressed. This is normal, they tend to darken up when they settle in.

Hybrid blacks are a hardier strain than double dark blacks, which won't show the striping but are often a weak strain.

is it a rare bread or pretty common? i live in Australia. i have never seen these angels before, tho i have seen many others.

i have had a look on google for different breads of angels, i think he is either a black ghost or a black lace, he looks to light in colour ot be a hybrid black. but as i am only new to this i cauld be wrong. i cant get a picture of him but will try to in the next few days.

I have an angel that sounds exactly like you described. He's a black, just not a double black. Basically hey're like much darker silvers and keep their stripes, unlike the double black.

last night i noticed a whitish clear sack kinda thing under his belly what cauld this be? he also didnt eat his diiner wich is very odd. i got up thismorning and the sack like thing was gone. i have only eva seen something similar like this with my female fighters, n then they dont usualy last the night. can anyone pls help me, i cant get a pic to show you cause as i said it is now gone, i just would like to now what it was.

Hmm very weird, my angel has the same thing and I noticed it this morning. It looks like it might be coming out of his anal cavity, let me see if I can get a picture, nevermind I can't get a good picture

thats where it looked like it was comming from my angel. but as i said it was there last night but its gone thismorning? might have just been constipaited or something?

Ovipositer perhaps, which would mean it's a female. A pic would help to confirm this.

i would like to get one but like i said it has now disapeard. so if it is female and it was her ovipositer its probably gone back in/ hopefully it hasnt fallen out or anything poor thing, will she be ok?

She'll be fine, if that's what it was. The more common name is a breeding tube, it's used to deposit eggs. It comes out to spawn, then goes back in when done. I had a koi female that would look "tubey" every couple of weeks, but never spawn even though there were known males in the tank. I recently traded her to another breeder, 6 months of nothing gets aggrivating.

ok, must be different to female fighters than, i usede to breed gfighters n the tube was different to the sack that was under the female fighters before they died. it looked like a thick bubble?
