Just Checking On Compatibility

The_Lock_Wife has decided that she likes cherry barbs. My usual research sources (books, Seriously Fish, etc.) indicate no problems with my current stocking, but anyone disagree?

I can't see any issues with getting Cherry Barbs to go with that lot.

Should be alright since cherries are less aggressive than tiger or other barbs (with the gourami). Make sure to get a dozen of them.

In fairness, it is very much my hobby, which she hasn't yet been bitten by, hence why we only have 2 tanks. She is adamant that we will never have a third, unless we win the lottery, and can buy a mansion in which I can set up a fish room.
 
We happened to be in our local MA, who have a rescued Giant Gourami, in one of their floor level tanks, and my 5yo loves it. Just above this tank is the tank of Cherry Barbs, and she said she liked them. I have hummed and haaaed about cherry barbs on numerous occasions, but never when I was in the market for a new species.
 
At the moment, I am restocking after a very nasty whitespot out break which killed my S&P cories, all my cardinal tetras and all my CPDs.

I think cherry barbs look great in a heavily planted aquarium.

Yeah, I was gutted. I don't think the fish were too happy about it either.
