Just changed my tank from gravel to sand

ok well i changed to sand because ive seen people tanks and they look ace i kinda ran out so the sand looks a bit bare and there is no plants in it because im getting them tomorrow as thats when i get paid i did have plants in but they died sorry about the bad quality pics its the best that i can do, this is my first ever fish tank so its my pride and joy im hopefully getting a few more neons and a snail to go in it

BEFORE - the pic looks very yellow as i had just put my bogwood in and it decided to leak a LOT!! lol

AFTER - will be adding a selection of plants will put a pic up when i have done that too just want to see if people think its better or worse

i prefer it with sand. looks nice

will look awesome with plants and maybe one more bit of tallish bog wood

i got told that they are supposed to be in smaller tanks but as i had already bought him as my first fish after 2 weeks leaving the tank running while putting food in to cycle it its kinda his home now lol he seems to go after the goldern barb alot though

I would be careful with the neons in with him, my neons killed my betta, the nipped away at him til he died of shock, they are nasty little things when they want to be.
Nice tank though, i want a bigger one.

I'd go for taller bog or monapi wood and a few varied height plants.

I'm guessing you've used silica sand?

It looks loads better. If you're going to get plants, try a plain background in either black (my personal fave) or blue.

ive been trying to find a piece of that stuff u put on the back of the fishtank with black on the back but it seems it might just be normal card im going out to buy some plants now glad everyone likes it and my betta killed one of my neons and i have started to see holes in my bettas tail just thought it was something else (was going to buy medication for maby tail rot new to everything) but i guess its saving up for a new tank for him shame about that really will post another pic when ive put some more plants in it
