well ive got them the special tetra prima dicus food, and also got 3 packs of frozen food. the guy at my lfs is very good to me chucks alot of free stuff in got all ten yes between 2" to 3" and the food and 3 packs of frozen beefheart and for £110 which i thought was quite good, he also use to breed them for his self not to sell so hes a fountain of knowledge if i need any help, better than most of the pet stores these days where they sell you anything to make money,

Hello

Dont be nervous about keeping discus i have found that its a mith about them being hard to keep, as long as you look after your water the discus will be happy.

yeah ive read so much i think thats what putting me worried to be honest, every1 always says diff things, they seem to be very good actually considering only been in tank a few hours the colour is coming threw and they are out at the front so looking good

Im lucky where i stay the water is very quality, but i still run my water through an ro filter. My ph sits at 6.5 and water is soft. I also mix some tap water in the ro water.I found if there diet is good they will grow big and healthy

What do you feed?

I feed them tetra prima in the morning and bloodworm and some beefhart mix at 5ish and then a discus flake 1 hour before the lights get switched off. But i clean up any uneaten food so not to spoil the water.

To the OP , the best advice i can give you is to do plenty of water changes , as your fish are so young i would be doing water changes at least 3x a week, and then syphoning out any uneaten food after feeding, feed you fish on a good ganular food like tetraprima and then feed beefheart aswell also they will go mad for frozen bloodoworm every few days,

when i got my baby discus i had 4 x 2" blue diamonds and 4 x 2" red turqs and also 2 x 3" alenquers i had them in a 650 litre tank which i know was far to big now but i was lucky enough for them to thrive i was doing 200 litre water changes a day using heated hma water as my water is soft from the tap, my fish grew like mad and was 6" - 6.5" when i got rid of them and they was only about 9 months old , so plenty of good quality water changes and a good diet and you cant go wrong

all the best

HTH

i was going to do either 50 litre water changes every other day, it dosent sound that much really but its 200 a week ish, or 100 litre water changes every other day, at the moment there still hiding, came out last nite and were in the centre but this morning hiding again :)

dont worry they will come out when they are ready , either one of yoou plans will work fine, how are you preping your water
