I recently changed my last tank to sand and I am left with a big bucket of around 20L of natural river gravel.
It's quite nice I thought and also was very expensive so I am reluctunt to throw it away
I would give it to someone but I doubt it any of you guys live near me(Ireland).
I am certain I won't use it even if I get a 5th tank(love bottom dwellers)
So I don't know what to do with it?

Here is a video of it in case anyone is interested:

I have tossed it, donated it, and used it in planters as a means to let the water flow more quickly when needed. I would say more often than not I have tossed it though, just right in the trash.

Tossing seems the easiest way to go

There's no one to donate it to...
Any other ideas before I make it disappear forever?

I dont know what to do with mine, I had some in my old piranha tank and then I got more when I bought my next two second hand tanks, I got maybe 50lbs of it and nowhere to use it since all my tanks are sand for the corys. I was going to put gravel in the oscar tank but then I read they liked to move decorations around in the sand when they're young so I put really fine gravel in the tank instead.

Is that pleco in the vid a baby golden/albino bristlenose? I have one but he was already ~4" when I bought him I've never seen them that small

That's about a month after I bought him I think, so imagine how small he really was. I think he was smaller than one of the ottos I got with him. He/she is an albino bristlenose. He's doubled in size, at least width wise from what I can tell. Isn't he funny, such a character from a baby pleco. He still chases off the fish from his algae tablet :)I have to take a video of him again really, super active non-shy pleco. He travelled into the trickle filter through the filter outlet recently, so I had to take off the V type plastic out in case he gets stuck. I think he was going to use it as a cave:

Left over fish gravel makes perfect drainage gravel in the bottom of potted plants

, as does pistachio nut shells for anyone curious about potential drainage media for potted plants

. Another lot who might be interested in a gravel donantion (or buy it at a reduced price) would be orchid and bonsai growers. There is usually some sort of plant/ garden club in most places, so I would check out any local possibilities.

I got one of those plastic tubs from the hardware shop and put it in there, funny because I have washed and used some later in a smaller tank I got, if I get another tank or decide to change I know where to get my gravel from.

It's nice stuff, would be a shame to chuck it. I'd keep it in the shed as you can be sure that somewhere down the line you'll go looking for it for some new project.

i used to toss it. but now i,m trying to keep it.more than once i had to spend money in the same gravel again for future projects.so know i wash it.keep it.reuse it when i need.

Yes as I said earlier I keep mine, but it is sods law, if you throw it away a week/month or two later you will need it.

Thanks for your replies all. I haven't thrown it yet. I guess I can't make myself to

although it's useless mostly.
I'll keep it to make some caves from silicone and other ornaments to look better. You never know, I may get sick of bottom dwellers one day.
