If you ever really wanted to be freaked out and/or amazed just get a flashlight and check your tank out after lights out. You wouldn't believe the critters in there. For instance, I had previously thought all my hermits had perished and that both my emerald crabs had vanished. Well that certainly wasnt the case as I found 10 hermits and 2 healthy emeralds!!!

Just a casual hobbiest observation

To get a better idea on what creeps about your tank at night, put a red filter over the torch. Most marine life don't see well/at all in the red spectrum and so behave as if the light wasn't there. Better still buy some red LED lights and fit them as you would moonlights.
