Jumping Video

This video is of my girls jumping for frozen Brine Shrimp. I think they have made it to like 3 cm so far, but I am not too sure, may have been higher, may have been lower. That is why they have such a large gap between their water, and the top of the tank. It isn't their highest, but It was late.

That is a great video. I had a girl who would do that and I have a boy now who does that. It is so hilarious.

lol.....they are really launching themselves aren't they. My boy is learning at the moment so is only at about 1cm but he's really getting the hang of it

Thanks! Made me laugh the way she got stickied to the corner of the tank in that jelly stuff. They seem to do that a lot.

wow... i have video of my males jumping 1 inch out of the water (maybe a bit past their body length)... On some occasions, I can get a jump like that.... but thats a great video! impressive.

I never taught my boys to jump but they decide to surprise me when I least suspect it. Sometimes I drop the food and they still launch at (and out) the surface of the water like a great white at a sea lion. You can hear an audible splash/snap too. If I find a better camera I'll post vids.

My boy Jaws got his name because he has a tendency to jump/bite more than the others. Even when there's no food involved. I guess he wants to taste me lol!

are the boys lazier when it comes to jumping...i've had my boy for about 3 mnths now (he's still relativley young) but he refuses to jump, he just looks at the food, lifts his head but then ignores it. It's as if he's saying "look i know you are going to give me it anyway, so why bother putting effort in".

Its not always the case, i have a male CT that will jump for food but not very high. I think its that their fins are very heavy when it comes to jumping, they hold them back. A male PK will jump better so thats all i can think it is. I got my CT to start by using live white work, now he does it for any thin but no where near as high as my girls

Yeah, all my girls will jump for me, but my boys never get more than half a centimeter from the water. It is probably due to the weight of their fins.
