This is going to have two seperate heats. So I will let this one run for 10 days and the other one will run for 10 days. And the final heat will run the remaining time in the month of August...

oh, it's too hard they are all so good so far. I have 4 photos that I love equally. There are some quality photos here.

Can't we have all 3 heats running at the same time?!

I agree, they should all run at the same time because people might not wait for the other heats and they will just vote now, so the other people won't get a chance. Its only fair.

So what happens after all three heats have run? will the top 5 or something go for a showdown? It seems only fair as we are going to be able to vote 3 different times for three different animals. Or maybe the winner from each heat can go in another poll to determine the final winner?

ok let me explain this. They are going to be two different polls. and I will take the top three from each two and run them in the last poll then the winner from the final poll will be July's pet of the month.

Somethings not fair in this comp. Conker (The cat) Is not owned by the person who submitted him in the comp. He said in the post he got nominated in that it was his friends cat.
Just trying to make it more fair for everyone else that's in the comp.

It doesnt matter if the pet belongs to the person or not.. I have said this many times as long as it belongs to a friend or someone. As long as any other members doesnt mind then we will leave things the way they are, if I changed it now I would have to redo the whole contest . I have already started this one and they are too much trouble to start all over...

Angel Lady, I don’t want to cause any conflict or aggro or seem pedantic - BUT I do think going forward, there should be some rules – especially as this now seems to be a huge competition.
This compitition is for Pet of the Month right ?

It's not called "Any animal / object" that belongs to who knows who or no one even.

In my opinion I think it’s only fair that the pet nominated, belongs to the poster and the poster took the picture. As I said before, if not, then I may as well post pictures of “my” lions, rhino's and zebras etc. to get nominated. Or it’s like having a "Betta of the month" competition and a wild catfish in some river gets nominated.
It makes a mockery of what the (yes I know it’s light-hearted & fun) competition is meant to be.

I also think it should only be one picture per month per pet (I see there are two of the same animal this month) – this has now become a huge competition and nominations seem to be awarded to just about every single picture that gets posted.
What’s the point in that ?

I don’t want to turn this into a huge thing, but there needs to be some firm guidelines – not just something wishy washy.
