My guppys are all looking alot happier now (I added a copper pipe to kill the Fluke) although I'm unsure if they had it now or if they other 2 died from shock of moving into the new tank. One of the females is very preggers, she must be at 2 weeks or more now and I'm looking forward to having some babys.
I was thinking today though while I watched the youngest memeber of the tank playing in the current from the filter "What will happen to the fry?". The filter itself has intakes that are big enough to fit even the largest fry. With the heavy current from a Jewul filter I don't want one of my fly to get trapped inside the filter then gro too big to escape. I can imagion a fish being able to survive inside the filter due to the flakes/plant matter that goes inside it although it wouldn't be a nice life. Has anyone got a horror story of finding a fish inside their filter months after a birth? My tank is fairly well planted but it's mostly amazon sword and I doubt the fry will be able to hide in that too well.

I haven't found fry in a Juwel filter, but my guppies swim up the side of the outflow pipe and swim around in there on their own for a day or two till I do a headcount.... they're such muppets!

I did have small fry in another tank and I rubber banded some filter foam across the vents, and also put a pop-sock (pantyhose??) over a whole filter once to keep fry out.

Edit: Sorry, didn't realise you was (almost) in Blighty and i didn't need to translate to US!!
