hi i have a 20 gallon tank open will it be ok to get one jewel cichlid or do they like groups and is it enough room for one? thanks

they do best in pairs and a pair will need far more than 20G.
I'd say at least 40g for a pair and choose tank mates very carefully they are very aggressive

also what kinds of algea eaters would be ok? would a pair of CAEs be alright? also can it live with a temporary treesome of burmese border loaches that are about 2 inches long

ok just a thought im not really that knolageable on cichlids, do u think a pair of kribs wuld be ok in the same conditions?
