Am thinking of getting one of the JBL Co2 systems.

What are the pro's and con's over the M602 and the U402? Does the re-fillable canister make much difference to price etc? It's a fair bit cheaper for the disposable one. And I see that you can buy a U to M adaptor later if needed.

What about the night switch? Is that really essential?

Thanks. :)

personally i would go for the 602 for the sake of £30. The bottles on the 402 aren't refillable, which means you'll be spending an extra tenner every time you get a refill they are about £20 and the refillables on the 602 are only £9 to refill.

as for the solenoids, you get one with both anyway. They aren't 100% essential, but i prefer to use one as you don't waste C02, as the plants won't use it at night.

Thanks.

I guess the night switch pays for itself with the Co2 saving.

Is the canister method that much better than the home-made yeast systems? Is the cost worth it?

it depends on the size of the tank, what size is the tank?. Pressurised CO2 offers less chance for fluctuations in C02, which in turn can help certain types of algae bloom.

then deffo pressurised C02, you'd need to be running 10+ two litre bottles on a tank that size. You may find that 500g of C02 may not last that long on a tank that size either. You may be better to go down the 2kg fire extinguisher route...
