Hi All
I got what I thought was a good deal on a tank today - £10 for a JBJ 12G cube. The tank is clean, not very used at all, totally watertight, and the pump is still working very well - all was good I thought.
That was until I tested the hood - There are 2 tubes and two cooling fans. The tank didn't have instructions, but my understanding is that when the lights are on the fans should come on too. This doesn't happen, even after cleaning the fans and giving them a bit of a push start...The second issue is with the tubes themselves. As it's meant for marine use, there are two tubes (similar to the one in my AquaStart 320). Only one of them lights up when I turn them on, and it's not always the same one - so it's not like the bulbs have blown. The final problem, and probably the biggest, is that sometimes when I turn the lights on it triggers the circuit breaker in my flat and turns everything off - not ideal for the other 2 tanks! This is only sometimes, because sometimes there's no issue at all and the light will come on with no issue..!
I'm not so good with electrics, so does anyone have any idea what might be going wrong? and how I can fix it? I've had a look on Google and some people seem to have had similar issues, but then don't say how they fixed it!!
Hope you can help,
Thanks,
Nick
