Java Moss

I have some java moss in both my tanks, it was all purchased together but in my fry tank it's doing extremely well but in my main tank it's kinda spindly and sparse.  My question is (pictures will be uploaded) is it dead, dying, or alive but just being extremely eaten?
 
Pictured are two differnt bunches in my main tank and a small section from the fry tank...bet you can't tell which one is from the fry tank =p
