so i've got some java moss that i want to add to a rock cave that i made. i want the moss to basically cling on to the top of the rock cave like a rug and i've tried by tying it down with string but the moss doesn't stay down. sometimes i'll find that my plec (around 5" now) has pushed the string off or somehow unties the knots and the moss floats to the top. i've also noticed a substantial loss of the java moss (im guessing the plec or glowlight tetras have been having a nibble here or there).

i've read people saying to use a net but being the noob i am i don't really know how that works.

any solutions?

Try a hair net from the drug store. They are very cheap and very thin. Just lay the moss on the rock then stretch the hair net over it (they are elastic) gather it underneth and sit it on the substrate. The moss will grow through the net and eventually you will not see the net anymore :good:
