hi all i brought some java moss off ebay (couldnt get it at LFS) it came 2day and like a T**T i just rushed and put it in the tank i dint relise untill after that i really should have washed it first:( never had this plant before so really could do with your help!!!

rite
1. just wanted 2 know do plants (java moss) grow/carry anythink which could hurt or desease my fish

2. should i have washed or done anythink with it before adding 2 tank

tommorrow morning i will be doing a big water change just incase!!! was gonna do it tonight then relised had no declorinator so thought better of it, dont want 2 make things worse :) so ill get some in the morning then do it.

Should be fine unless the previous tank it was in had a disease of some kind. You could email the seller, but i doubt he/she would admit if there was or not. Just do a 10-20% water change tomorrow to be sure.

Just out of curiosity, are you going to keep the moss floating around or are you going to tie it to a rock/wood?

it's tied by some cotton 2 bogwood and rocks hopefully it will attach itself then i can remove the cotton lol

have no experience with java moss at all but i saw it in a few members tanks and it look pretty good so i thought i;d give it a go:)

also

i brought this piece then the misses decided 2 buy another piece which hasnt come yet wot should i really be doing with it before adding 2 tank :):):)

When ever i get any plants i unpack them and clean them with the shower, then just pop them in the tank :good:
