Unless you are one of the few, like me, who are proclaimed java moss murderers. :rip: It's rare, but it does happen. There is a support group somewhere for this.

llj

Aaron's right, though mine never grew back, just died and smelled very bad.

how long did you leave yours for llj?

Plant fertilisers will help, but if you have low light, and a plant like java moss, then it will survive just oof the waste in the tank which breaks down into nitrate, ammonia & phosphate.

What is the gh in the tank? If it is very low there is a fert a Rex Griggs , Gh Bumper, that will help.

Probably not long enough, but I keep some delicate species and the moss was smelling very poorly, so when that happens, I will always choose the safety of the fish over the possibility of keeping a plant alive. I removed the moss, I managed to recover a few strands, but I'm not convinced that these strands are java moss. And at this time, I'm not willing to learn its taxonomy, just willing to keep it alive.

How about checking your co2 level. For my java fern and moss lived without the use of ferts and high light. All I did was dose with flourish excel.
