Heya,

i was looking at my tank, and took a closer look at my javamoss, and it looks like it has this white cotton like substance on it =( what is this? is it good, bad?

please help me! i just got the stuff

Baguu

i have homemade co2 aswell

no signs of it on any other plants or riccia

is this new growth o.0?

Not sure what that is, but new growth on java moss just has really light green tips on the plantlets. If there's not a lot of water movement, it could be algae..
Chances are the substance is not good, but that doesn't mean its bad either.

hi
I have loads of water movement in the tank, and it looks like cotton +\

Thanks

Baguiuuu ;)

well, it cant be them i don't think

because its only on the moss =/

and no other plants are affected =/

moss tends to be bad because debris gets caught easily and it rots and produces ammonia although you say your circulation is good.
If it isnt algae then it must be some sort of fungus. Can you get a picture of it?

Is it close to the CO2 diffuser in the tank?
If so, then it could simply be the by-product that sometimes occurs when using fermentation CO2. Not harmful and fish/shrimp eat it.
Just a possibility.

heya all!

Well, i have co2 into powerhead 1, with pumps out full speed, this is then hit by powerhead 2 which pushes the current and co2 bubble all around the tank (base upwards, the bubbles rarely leave the water). I had cucumber and lettuce in the tank, i tried to rub this white stuff of but couldnt =/

None of the fishes are eating it =/, and my sheer luck the camera is broken ><, give me tommorow and ill have piccies :)

thanks, btw i spread the rest of the moss around the tank :)

Baguuuu ;)
