I have some moss and fern in my tank. both are strapped to my peices of wood (Drift i belive) and after 2 months none of it is trying to attach its self....

Any ideas.....

how do you know ? did you ripped them apart?.

Just tie them with fishing string. you wont be able to seee them and they will last forever

how did you attach the java moss? did you place little pinches here and there or did you tie down a clump? pinches are the way to go... as for the ferns, do you use ferts? my ferns take maybe a week to take hold to rock/wood and i add ferts whenever i change water (maybe once every other week)

The Moss is held by black cotton and was spred lightly over the area required. the fish have been nibbling at my cotton and it is comming apart slowly but the moss is slowly lifting up and the only thing holding it down is its its neares clump!!

As to the ferns i have used wire and the roots are just growing out from the plant and floating around. I keep trying to wrap that around and it is not doing a thing.....

as to ferts i have never found a cheap supplier of them.
