i have a species tank set up containing corys, i have moss balls and frogbit in the tank but was wondering if java fern would be ok? the tank is in the garage so only gets at the minute 7 hours of light from the tube no natural light. the tube is a dim light for goldfish as i wanted the tank to be darkish and tanned water. i have read with this plant you can get away with low light

When i first purchase Java Fern it was for a small 10l betta tank. (no light) I tied it in pebbles. It grew fine and also had lots of plantlets.

Now in the 2 community tanks, although it should be tied against something i have buried it in the substrate, ans till its growing fine. The tanks lights are both T8 15W.

A very hardy plant imho :good:

i kepton one in a low light cold water tank, with no ferts and it lasted about a year. I only got rid because the leaves went black and discoloured.

i read about that after i threw the plant out.
