Java Fern

My java fern is completley covered in new baby java's! They are all over it!

Couple of questions - does this mean that my fern is probably going to die? When do you take them off - they are only about 5mm-1cm at the moment!

Your plant is fine. I let the plantlets grow on the leaves until they get about 2" or so before gently removing them if I have somewhere else I want to start some. Otherwise I just let them grow where they are. I have one patch that has been left alone for some time now and has grown into a nice tangle. The fish seem to like it. Often a plant will fall off and float away on it's own. This can be put back into the patch (just push it into the roots) or anchored to another spot. I use black cotton thread to anchor it to pieces of wood when I want to start another patch.

oh cool thanks for the reply, I thought they might all fall off when really small but hopefully they will hold on for a while!

Yup...Griz is absolutely right. My one plant has spread all over the original rock it was on as well as it's growing in other places I've put it.
