Hi guys.

I just had a question about my java fern. One of my plants has these brown "strings" growing off of it. It also has new leaf growth so I don't think it's dying, I'm just what this could be?

Thanks!

Those are roots, Java ferns roots grow off the leafs.

these are whats known as daughter plants. this is how java fern reproduces. you may notice little black spots under the leaves. these spots grow into a completley new plant over time and break away of there own accord. you can remove them yourself if you like and tie them to rocks or drift wood and they will grow independently.

What bigcheed said.  It's the roots of a daughter plantlet that is growing on the adult leaf.

OHHHH! That's actually pretty awesome, I was worried there was something wrong with it haha.

Thanks to all of you for responding :D
