My Java Ferns are growing well and the new plants are forming off the tip however I have a couple of questions:

1. Should I pull the new plants off to grow them?

2. The are lots of brown roots all up the ferns, can they be pulled off (to make it look better) or should they be left?

The baby plants you have if you pull them off you can tie them down or slot them in to rocks or wood where they can become anchored. The brown roots on the leaves can be trimmed I think these are just extra roots the plant sends out mine had them for a while but they seemed to have dropped off or grown into new plantlets.

Leave the plants on the leaves until they get pretty big or drop off.

I wouldn't pull the roots off. It won't kill the plant as long as you leave most of them behind though.
