The leaves on my java fern are changing to a darker green at the tips of the leaves. Is there any reason for this? Is it a deficiency of something?

Thanks

looks like a "trace" deficiency to me. are you adding any general liquid fertaliser. take a look at this table. the bottom section are trace elements

Thanks for the link. The dark green it says it a lack of phosphate, so i guess i should be adding more PO4 ? Strange, i thought i was already adding 1ppm every other day. I'll try adding a little bit more to see if that'll clear it up.
Thanks again :good:

maybe but i noticed the dark green veins and slightly yellowing leaves. thats usually a iron / magnesium deficiency. i'd try that first as overdosing with phosphate will cause algae if it's out of ratio to the nitrate.

nitrate / phosphate should be 20-30/1

ie 30ppm nitrate in the water and 1ppm phosphate is theoretically "in balance".

i tried adding a little extra trace over the last week but the leaves are still the same.

Having trouble with BBA now :/
