Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice regarding my Jardini Arowana.

Since introducing two Pacu (which have now been removed), my Arowana has stopped eating completely — it won’t take mussels or any other food. The issue started shortly after the Pacu were added.

I’ve already carried out two 50% water changes, but there has been no improvement so far. The Arowana now has a white/opaque film on its body and also a white film covering the eyes.

Has anyone experienced this before?

What could this be (stress, bacterial, fungal, parasites?), and what treatment would you recommend?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

@GaryE ...any ideas? I'm thinking the Pacu may have stressed and brought something into the tank. I would continue large WC daily. I don't really see any film/powder on him, but it could be bacterial or fungal.

I had a large arrowana, for a long time ( I also had a huge pacu, that I kept in separate tanks ) I assume you have a very large tank??? that's not mentioned, neither was the size of the pacus... if I remember right, my arrowana, did not like anything in it's space in the tank... the only fish I could have in the same tank, that didn't result in it repeated bouncing off the cover, was a tiger shovel nose catfish, and that fish also grew quite large, but each never encroached into the others area of the tank, if the pacus were large, and they surface fed, mr. arrowana may have just gotten his feelings hurt, that he lost his place at the top of the world??
