Yes, I like the tank, I want thicker and bushier groups and a fuller Dutch layout, he's about 80% the way there.
All he needs to do is allow the plants to fill in more and then trim carefully to predict the right "bloom" stage where each plant group will be where he wants it for his design.
Taller groups in the rear, thick mid groups, Foreground is good, perhaps some layered groups rising up tier like towards the rear, some are diagonals etc.
Note, this is for a Dutch style scape which seems to be Jame's goal here.
We certainly would all like to see a larger thick group of R macrandra.
I'm sure James is working on it, however, he might be selling off the excess plants rather than packing them in for a nice photo.
Keeping the plants and really packing them in and keeping them well trimmed for a few weeks prior to a phot and group showing is a trick.
I have a post on the APD from years back on how to prep for contest or open house or a photo shoot.
It takes a lot of work but really dials the tank in nicely.
He's proven he can grow and do groupings, not much collectoritis disease, now the challenge is continuing.
