Hey,

I'm new to this forum so appoligies if i have posted in the wrong thread

I have recently just got a wicked Jaguar Cichlid - Parachromis managuensis fish, which is currently in a 300 little tank.

The set up is sand in the bottom with some rocks and bog wood basicaly my questions is the sand took me 1 week to settle and as Jaguar fish love to do, he has dug all my sand up making my water cloudy and unsettled again any ideas of how i can keep my water clear and none cloudy? coz i know he is just gonna keep diggin and i really dont want to change to gravel sand looks so much better! any help would be good.

Plus any one got any pointers as to what other fish or Invertibrates i could put in with him, after doing my recerch i understand he is very agressive to other fish. I have seen a blue lobster i would love to get would the Jaguar tolerate it?

Cheers for any help

Jimmy

I found the best thing was gravel, but have seen lot's of people with sand,so it doe's work....
My old male jaguar would not accept any tankmate's at all, he would even attack my syphon if i put it in there, they are such a beautiful fish and deserve a tank to its self unless you can up the anti in tanksize
