Jaguar Cichlid Help!

hi room, about 3 months ago i bought a jaguar cichlid, in my 4foot tank i already had: male firemouth,a pair of zebras,a jewel, a huge kissing guorami,large red tailed shark,small clown loach (bless him lol) a huge silver shark, a black knife fish, yellow lab,small plec,and a new very large female zebra. ive been informed by a shop that this jag will in not much time at all grow and prettymuch kill my tank! but ive had him a while now, hes settled in fine and is around the same size as all the rest of the fish and never causes any trouble. what should i do will he turn phsyco and kill all me other fish?? im worried!

your tank is hugely overstockes. yellow labs are african cichlids and require different water perametars (hard alkaline water).the black ghost knife needs a 75 gallon aquarium. your silver shark needs a 125 gallon aquarium. and a jag needs a huge 150 gallon + To keep it singular. the kissing gourami needs a larger tank too. for the fishes sake. take them all back and stick with the firemouth,clowm loach and plec. there are deffinately miserable fish as you tank is about a 55 max. what are the dimentions???

Holy crap that's a lot of fish that are going to get huge eventually. Unless you are going to get multiple, large tanks for all of them, I would definitely take them back! (And leave the ones that Dany suggested, except the clown loach and the pleco, because I'm assuming the pleco is a common, which can get roughly 18")

Jaguar Cichlids are hard core. They would kill everything

I assume you mean Red Tail Catfish, since Red Tail Black Shark's only reach about 5-6" max.

And Yes. The Jaguar will eventually kill off most, if not all of the fish in your tank.

Damn ! your Jag won't just out grow he'll also make small work of all your other fishes a jag needds a minimum of 55gal to 75gal space with robust decor these fish can be very agressive and should not be owned by first time hobbiests or people who are new to cichlids ( IMO ) If you need to know anything else about these fish just PM me and i'll be happy to tell you anything you need to know.

thankyou very much for your help everyone. the jag has now been sold along with the silver shark. he just exploded in size and had to go. the dimentions of the tank are 4 foot long,20 high by 20 wide.the kissing gourami is about 6" and is really happy in there. the ghost knife fish is very much an oddball and only comes out to feed, hes just over 4". the rest of my fish are all quite younge. il try and post a pic soon.

The silver shark you had i'm assuming it was a bala shark ? had black fins ? they also grow quite large bigger than the Jag they grow to around 16" good idea to get rid of them !
