I think a mean female. It might just be a glare in the picture, but isn't that an oviposter on the bottom of him/her? Not sure lol. I think someone might have already answered your question though.

Are females expensive? I haven't seen any at Petsmart.

Females aren't expensive but they are less "desirable". They don't sell as well. They don't have the potential for long flowing fins like males do.

I have seen some gorgeous females though! Some aren't very pretty, but man I have seen some that are just amazing. Like mine...

I love my mom's female. She is so spunky with beautiful colouring and so pert... she doesn't look worn out like the males sometimes look, like they're tired of such long fins and are annoyed, you know? She looks.. innocent. I like it. She's mega-cute.

I paid $2.19 each for them. All seven ended up being 20.85
